I drive a 335i and have NEVER wanted a BMW SUV. This... I want this... I like this.... Doesn't seem to have much fender clearence though....

Way back in the day when the E53 was new, Car and Driver did an off road compare between all of the soft roaders available at the time, I think it was the Grand Cherokee, Explorer, Trailblazer, ML, abad X%. The X5 came out on top. I've always been under the impression that it's a fairly capable platform.

I absolutely hate X5s, all three generations of it. But that one is amazing. You're right though, slightly smaller tires and a bigger lift kit and it's perfect.

I was ensured it was some kind of donor car. Still sad to see a E39 go, they automotive gods can have 10 F10s instead of 1 E39.

yep, love it! I made a lift kit for my daily e83 x3, 1 inch lift and bigger tires for another inch, looks like a mans small suv....
